You know the one – “If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.”
Development Associates USA has helped businesses create success plans for over 27 years. We’ve also watched other businesses struggle through difficult times, or fail to do as well as they could in good times because they were “too busy” to enter into a planning process.
What is “Strategic Planning”?
It’s all about putting an action plan together for both your long-term business goals and the short-term goals as the stepping stones to achieving your long-term vision.
Strategic planning builds on the previous success steps you have taken of creating a mission and then visioning. The resulting goals are simply a clearer statement of the vision, specifying what accomplishments need to be achieved if the vision is to become real.
The Components of the Process
We believe the vision begins at the top and inspires the employee group to want to excel and help the company meet that vision and mission. This is why good employees stay with the company – a feeling of ownership of the vision. We also believe every member of an inspired team will have input of value if that source is tapped. Our team will work with you to:
1. Critically evaluate your company’s current status.
2. Envision the level you want (or need) your company to attain.
3. Obtain company leadership and rank and file perspectives on the current
status as well as the potential for success they see.
4. Identify potential goals to assist in meeting that potential.
At this point, the process begins to produce many ideas.
Involvement With Your Team
Several strategies are used to obtain the critical information you need to make good decisions in the planning process. Our box of tools includes employee and/or customer surveys, one-on-one interviews or group discussions. Working in a safe environment, we find people are more prone to open up to us and really talk about things that need to be heard.
This also helps create a more motivating work environment!
Data Compilation
Development Associates USA compiles all of the input obtained and puts it in an easy to understand format that our consultant will use to facilitate your strategic planning session to create your strategic planning goals. All input is kept confidential, so there is more employee participation.
“The Plan”
The end result will be a listing of the goals and timeframes you have identified as critical to your continued success. We can also help you create specific action steps to achieve those goals.
